our facilities

We have a range of facilities to support members and visitors, whether you are here for a trial flight, learning to glide or are an experienced pilot with your own glider and trailer.

  • Hangar

We have a spacious hangar in which our glider fleet is housed and a warm, dry parachute room. During the summer, we keep our entire fleet rigged. In the winter months, we keep our winter fleet rigged and hangar all club and private trailers.

  • Clubhouse

We have a well equipped clubhouse which houses a licensed bar, lounge, kitchen, outside picnic seating, toilets and shower facilities. The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, toaster, fridge, oven, hob and offers tea and coffee making facilities.

  • Workshops

We have two, fully-equipped glider workshops, one for club aircraft and another for private owners, to assist with maintenance, repair and annual inspections. We also have members who are BGA inspectors and available for queries.

  • Operations Room

We have a room dedicated for flight planning, providing a Wi-Fi connected computer for members to access weather forecasts, NOTAMs, flight analysis software and other flight planning tools and task planning equipment.

  • Briefing Room

We have a large briefing room for groups and individuals, which is fully equipped with a projector. This can be used for pre-flight briefings on flying days, or winter lectures on non-flying days. We also use this room for our annual general meetings.

  • Bus

We have a bus which is driven out to the launch point every morning. This provides shelter from the elements, as well as tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge and a freezer. There are soft drinks and crisps available to purchase throughout the day.
