our location

Chilterns Gliding Club is situated at the foot of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding National Beauty and located next to the village of Halton near Wendover, Buckinghamshire. It is a landscape of remarkable beauty and character, and an excellent setting to experience the thrill of gliding.

The Club is located at:

Hangar 2, RAF Halton Airfield,
Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, HP22 5GH

Driving is the most convenient way of getting to the airfield, however, there are also train routes into the region, stopping at locations such as Aylesbury and Wendover.

From there, you can arrange for a local taxi service directly to the airfield. Most local providers are familiar with RAF Halton and the location of the airfield.

You can use the map interactively, which shows the locations for: (i) the RAF Guardroom (red); and (ii) the Club (green). You will need to go to the guardroom first in order to obtain your security pass. There is free, unlimited parking available at both locations if you travel by car. You can click on the coloured words to be redirected to Google Maps.

The first satellite image displays your arrival to the RAF Guardroom (the red marker in the interactive map above). The blue area marks the visitor car park. The yellow lines mark the route to enter the building, which is manned 24/7. You will receive further information and contact details in case there are any issues when you arrange a date for your visit.

The second satellite image displays your arrival to RAF Halton Airfield in yellow (the green marker in the interactive map above). The blue area marks the visitor car park. The red line denotes the barrier to the airfield. You should not cross this fence without an escort from the Club. The green area is the location of Hangar 2 and in which our fleet is stored.
