With a cold day, and a 10kt southerly forecast it seemed a good day to try to challenge the membership to achieving 50+ launches.

Unfortunately, several problems were encountered setting up and getting going...not least flat batteries and the majority of parachutes were away for annual repack. We had 8 seats DI'd and only 5 chutes...thankfully a couple of syndicates came to the rescue.

Eventually, first launch was 10:09 and last landing was set for 16:56, so all we had to do was 7 launches an hour and a couple of 8's.

In the end, we managed 60 winch launches, 1 aerotow and 5 motor glider flights. We missed logging 1 flight hence the stats photo shows different.

Notable achievements were an Astir Conversion for Klemens and ASW15 conversions for Bryan Harvey and Mick Boydon, and resolos for Rhys Milford and Gareth Allenby-Jones.

The hog of the day was Mark Durden but he was deemed to be cheating as he had an aerotow and managed to persuade himself he was in weak wave.

There was also a trip down memory lane for Martyn Pike who flew the Ka18...the same one he did is 300km in some 44 years ago.

The star of the day was today's Launch Marshal, Sarah Willocks, who launched every glider for the whole freezing 7 hours without a break.
