A really good day of preparation for the coming winter season today. There was a very strong turnout, especially given the forecast water logging of the airfield. Unfortunately the forecast was correct and despite two inspections, the airfield was deemed unserviceable.
Nevertheless, together we managed to fit all of the trailers we had planned for (and a couple more!) into the hangar as well as the MT and 7 rigged gliders, plus room for EDW (UCL’s ASK 21) and SF (our Rotax Falke) when they return from their annuals at Dunstable. We also refitted the canopies to some of the gliders returning from Aboyne and we rigged the Astir CS, R77, for the winter season.
All-in-all, a very productive day with excellent support all around.
